Small Bathroom, Big Potential: Clever Ways to Maximise Space

Struggling to design a bathroom that's on the smaller side? Don't despair! At Highgrove Bathrooms, we know that it's not the size of the bathroom that matters, but what you do with it. Try these tips for making the most of limited space, and turn your bathroom into the sanctuary you have always dreamed of!

A Vanity to Tuck Clutter Away

A vanity with built-in storage such as drawers or shelves is perfect for organising your essentials and preventing clutter from piling around the basin. Consider a wall-hung vanity that will also free up floor space, making the bathroom feel more open and inviting.

Space-Saving Fixtures for the Win

If you dream of a tub, don't let your tiny space stop you! A corner bath can fit in snugly in the corner of your room, maximising floor space and allowing other fixtures to be placed more freely in the remaining area.

To reduce the visual bulk, consider a wall-hung toilet with a concealed cistern that also adds a sleek contemporary touch. Bonus points for less cleaning up to do!

Let There Be Light

A well-lit bathroom creates the illusion of more space. To let the sun in while ensuring privacy, install frosted-glass windows or a skylight, allowing natural light to flood your space. If you lack windows, introduce reflective surfaces to bounce the light around, such as glossy tiles, an LED mirror, a frameless glass shower panels, or a  reflective finish for your tapware, shower outlets and accessories.

Use Colours Strategically

Using the same colour for the walls and floors creates an uninterrupted feel that visually expands the space. A light and neutral palette can make the bathroom feel brighter and airier. Whites, creams, soft greys or even light pastels are perfect for tight spaces as they amplify the natural light.
